2024 COLORADO & SILVERADO EV ARE FINALISTS FOR NORTH AMERICA TRUCK OF THE YEAR

McFarland Chevrolet is proud to announce the three finalists for the 2024 North American Car of the Year Award, and two of them are from Chevrolet. The coming-soon Silverado EV and the redesigned 2024 Colorado are both finalists for the prestigious award, with the third finalist being the Ford Super Duty Pickup. For the Colorado, this could be a new trophy to go next to the golden calipers of the 2024 Motor Trend Truck of the Year award it just received.

NACTOY President Jeff Gilbert commented, “Electric vehicles again make up more than half of our finalists. That shows how important they are to carmakers and how many more choices car buyers now have. But there is a lot of variety in this group, including a big work truck, a hybrid, and a family sedan.”

There were 52 candidates for this year’s NACTOY awards, which has a separate winner in the car, truck, and utility vehicle categories. Award eligibility requires a vehicle to be all-new or significantly redesigned in the specified model year.  The models are judged based on their delivery of:

• Outstanding innovation

• Design

• Performance

• Driver satisfaction

• Value

25 semi-finalists were announced at the Detroit Auto Show in September.  Then in November, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, 9 finalists were named, with 3 for each category. All three NACTOY winners will be announced on January 4, 2024, at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan.

WHAT IS NACTOY?

The North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year (NACTOY) winners are determined by 50 judges, all of whom are respected automotive print, broadcast, and online journalists. This is the 30th year of the awards, making them the longest-running, new-vehicle awards not associated with a single publication, website, or broadcast show.

WINNERS ALREADY

On January 4th, Chevrolet has a two out of three chance of taking home a trophy. But since both the Silverado EV and Colorado have reached the highest level of their respective categories, they are already winners among their competitive sets.  If you are interested in either of these winning vehicles, McFarland Chevrolet has the 2024 Colorado in stock. The innovative Silverado EV is expected to be available for commercial use in Spring 2024, with normal retail sales in the summer.
