Performance
The Trax is powered by a 1.2-liter ECOTEC turbocharged inline-3 producing 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The EPA-estimated fuel mileage is 28 mpg city and 32 mpg highway.
Exterior
The overall design of the new Chevrolet Trax is inspired by the Chevy Blazer and displays sophistication while still being youthful. All models now have a height that is 4 inches shorter to enhance the sleekness and athletic appearance of the Trax.
The LED headlights on most models help to accentuate the front end, leaving room for the grille to show people which trim level you have.
All RS models feature a black grille with a black bowtie emblem and RS badging, while ACTIV models feature a black grille and a body-colored accent between the headlights.
The standard LS model wears 16-inch steel wheels that can be upgraded to 17-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels with the LS Convenience Package. That also adds body-color heated power exterior mirrors as an exterior extra.
LT models receive 17-inch aluminum wheels as standard, while 1RS and ACTIV get 18-inch wheels, and 2RS models have 19-inch wheels.
ACTIV models feature a power-adjustable driver’s seat and 1RS, LT, 2RS, and ACTIV have an available sunroof.
Interior
For 2024, most trims for the Chevrolet Trax receive push-button start and automatic climate control.
When selecting the base model, LS buyers who choose the LS Convenience Package will get remote start, heated front seats, and carpeted floor mats as interior extras.

- Headroom F/R: 39.6 / 38.1
- Legroom F/R: 41.9 / 38.7
- Shoulder room F/R: 55.7 / 54.3
- Hip room F/R: 52.1 / 45.3
Behind the rear seats there is 25.6 cu.ft. of cargo space and with the seats folded, customers will appreciate the 54.1 cu.ft.
All models have 4 bottle holders and two cup holders.
Technology
For a vehicle that doesn’t cost a lot, the Chevy Trax has a lot of technology and features. LS and 1RS trim levels have an 8-inch multimedia touchscreen infotainment display, while LT, 2RS, and ACTIV models have an 11-inch infotainment touchscreen with an 8-inch digital instrument cluster.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard on all models and a wireless phone charger is available for the first time on LT, 2RS, and ACTIV. All models, including the LS, are WiFi hotspot capable and can be used with an active AT&T phone plan.
Safety
Chevy Safety Assist is standard on all Trax models and features Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Intellibeam Auto High Beam Assist.
Cruise control is standard across the range and Adaptive Cruise Control is available as an option on certain trim levels.
