February 1st, 2026 by

It is a tradition dating back over 70 years. Chevrolet has been a part of NASCAR since 1955, fielding cars wearing 14 different nameplates in the top-tier Cup Series. For the past several seasons, the Camaro name has competed alongside the Bowtie. From Daytona to Sonoma, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 NASCAR Cup Racer has been driven by the best drivers in stock car racing. That tradition is not going to stopanytime soon.

The 2026 NASCAR Cup Series Camaro ZL1 gets an updated design ready for competition. The upgraded styling is influenced by the Camaro ZL1 Carbon Performance Package accessories kit. This kit was developed to enhance performance by incorporating lighter-weight components, resulting in improved aerodynamics.

The race car features new styling enhancements, including a larger power dome on the hood, a revised front clip area and grille, and more pronounced rocker panels along the sides. These body enhancements emulate the key exterior design components of the Carbon Performance package.

The result should be better airflow management and downforce. All of which should comply with the mandates from NASCAR for Cup Series entrants. Sixteen main entries will be in the hunt for this year’s Cup Championship. Chevrolet racers include reigning NASCAR Cup Series overall champion Kyle Larson, NASCAR Cup Series Regular Season champion William Byron, AJ Allmendinger, Alex Bowman, Kyle Busch, Ross Chastain, Ty Dillon, Austin Dillon, Chase Elliott, Justin Haley, Carson Hocevar, Katherine Legge, Michael McDowell, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Daniel Suarez, and Shane Van Gisbergen.

All of these drivers have a legacy to uphold. Chevrolet race cars recorded 881 all-time victories in the NASCAR Cup Series, along with 34 driver championships, and 44 manufacturer championships. In fact, Chevrolet won the last five of the latter.
