2027 Chevrolet Bolt

Performance

The 2027 Bolt’s current front-wheel-drive configuration delivers 210 horsepower from a single X76 electric motor. Chevrolet equipped the small crossover with a standard one-pedal driving mode, which allows the driver to stop the vehicle by lifting off the accelerator. There’s a bit of a learning curve with one-pedal systems, but using them can significantly improve brake life, as the electric motor slows the vehicle instead of brake pads and rotors, and also works to regenerate the battery.    

The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt with front-wheel drive can drive on a full battery for up to 262 miles of estimated range, feeding into a 65-kilowatt-hour battery pack. All models have 11.5-kW Level 2 charging, which can recover 34 miles of range per hour with the J1772 adapter. It can also recharge through DC fast charging, starting at 150 kW, using the native NACS port. You now have access to over 250,000 chargers across the country.  

You can also have a GM Energy PowerShift charger for your home, delivering up to 19.2-kilowatts of energy. The Bolt is capable of vehicle-to-home (V2H) bidirectional charging back to your home. 

Exterior

The 2027 Bolt’s design may look familiar to the previous generation model. If you look closely, there have been some updates that make it stand out even more. A sportier front clip features design cues from other Chevrolet electric vehicles. That includes a rear horizontal taillight and trim package. All Bolt models are equipped with LED headlamps and taillamp units. The LT model wears gloss-black mirror caps to finish off its bolder and cleaner exterior design. On the RS model, there is a unique black strip above the bumper skin and an aggressive black grille below it. It also comes with gloss black roof rails. 

Chevrolet equips the 2027 Bolt LT and RS with 17-inch alloy wheels as standard. The RS trim offers black-finished wheels.  

There is only one body style for the 2027 Bolt. It combines the best of the previous generation’s EV and EUV into one neat visual package. Plus, a set of vibrant new colors, including Habanero Orange, Marina Blue Metallic, Relic Green Metallic (LT only), and Atomic Yellow (RS only).  

Interior

The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt seats up to five people and offers several features to enhance your driving experience. Ambient LED lighting is available, and the RS model features heated and ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel. A six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat is standard on the RS, while an eight-way power seat is part of the Comfort Package on the LT. Chevrolet offers cloth black with blue accents or a light gray theme on the LT. The RS trim is available with sporty black-and-red Evotex interior colors. An Evotex package is also available on the LT model.  

Cargo space is generous, with 16.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats. With those seats folded down, you get a maximum of 56.3 cubic feet.  

Automatic climate control is standard on all trims, now with tactile controls. The 11-inch diagonal driver display is set in a more modern and cleaner dashboard design that is more driver-focused than before. The shifter has since been moved to the steering column, as in other Chevrolet electric vehicles.

Technology

Chevrolet equips the 2027 Bolt with an 11.3-inch touchscreen display. The system is powered by Google Built-in, which brings a range of advanced features, including voice controls, Google Play Store functionality, Maps, games, video streaming via HBO Max and Prime Video, web browsing via Chrome, and more. Wireless phone charging is available on a new lower console area below the dashboard.  

As with all Chevrolet models, you can add an OnStar subscription that connects your 2027 Bolt to emergency assistance, from accident reporting to roadside assistance.  You can equip your 2027 Bolt with Super Cruise, an advanced driver assistance technology. It provides hands-free driving, enabling you to keep your eyes on the road over thousands of miles of compatible roads. Super Cruise is also tied into Google Maps, ensuring you are in the correct lane when making your exit based on the navigation system’s routing.  

Owners of the 2027 Bolt can access the MyChevy app, which offers charger location features, remote vehicle information on the state of charge, and other data. The 2027 Bolt also has access to GM’s Ultium Charge 360 service, which includes more than 250,000 public chargers in the U.S. and Canada. Now with the NACS port, which includes Tesla Superchargers.  

Safety

All Bolt models come standard with Chevy Safety Assist, which brings automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, forward collision alerts, following distance indicators, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, and lane departure warnings. It also comes standard with blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, reverse automatic braking, rear parking sensors, and a safety alert seat system that vibrates when a warning is needed.
